Programs & Education

The club hosts several programs open to the public each year. Each program features a knowledgable and engaging speaker and covers a variety of topics. We also hold several member only workshops, meetings and garden tours. Please visit our events page for more information.

Civic Beautification

Town Hall Gardens & Urns

The club maintains and waters the urns and garden beds at Town Hall and partnered with the Town Conservation staff in May of 2021 to plant the pollinator garden in front of Town Hall which has been linked to the "Pollinator Pathway." In addition, the club designed and planted the other garden beds over the last few years, planted the ground cover ajuga on either side of the entrance and beds where nothing else would grow.  All of this dedication and work by club members has provided an inviting and attractive entrance to the offices at Town Hall.

“In good times and in times of crisis, parks and open spaces give people of all walks of life a place

to connect, to find common ground, to foster physical and mental wellbeing.”

The Friends of Memorial Park and the North Andover Improvement Society have recently produced a new brochure of the park including this map  created by Glen Aspeslagh.

Christmas Kindness

Our members coordinate with the Youth Center's Holiday Gift Drive by providing local grocery and retail store gift certificates for distribution to families in need in North Andover. Our generous members have raised more than

$1000 each year for this in-the-spirit-of-the-season community effort.

Scholarships

In memory of former member Richard Kulpinski, the club funds two annual scholarships to

high school seniors. For more information click here.

Plant Sale

Our club holds an annual plant sale which is our major fundraiser. Active members donate

a minimum of five plants. Every plant is locally grown and therefore, tends to be tried,

tested and more successful in people’s gardens.

Proceeds from our sale fund our programs and activities, including two annual scholarships

for graduating high school students majoring in horticulture or environmental studies.

The community is incredibly supportive of our efforts.
